Showtime, Hongkong and many fine events -2008 Season Review
Our star of this years competition season was with out a dought SHOWTIME (Polarpunkt)
With an extreamly consistant season the Trakehner stallion took home a total of 24 ribbons in the advanced classes. They finished their tests five times on first place and 11 times on second. Leonie won the Regional Championships for the 5th year, this time with SHOWTIME and took the silver medal at the Provincial Championships.
Leonie also ended a very good first year at the advanced level with the 8 year old De Niro son DACCORD DE. The dark bay gelding came home with 12 placings at the advanced level including wins. DACCORD qualified for the finals of the Young Horse Classics in Elmshorn and has proved himself a very consistant team horse for the Hannover- South Team advanced medium Kur.
Over the past show season Leonie took home 42 ribbons at the advanced levels. Eleven of these were first placings and 13 were second places. In addition to SHOWTIME and DACCORD our further advanced horses MARCHENPRINZ (Munchausen) and HALBERSTETERS MARTIN (Matula) were also well under way.
2008 saw the rise of the „Phoenix form the ashes" DONNA ANTONIA (Don Frederico). After her tragic pasture accident in 2007 DONNA ANTONIA found her way back into the dressage arena.
The big black mare and Leonie took a total of seven wins in classes at Elementary and Medium levels.
Our youngsters had a very good season. Two shining stars were the 4 year olds HINDENBURG (His Highness) and SHIRA MAREEN ( Stedinger). The black gelding took 10 ribbons in 10 starts in young horse novice tests including 6 wins under 3 different riders, (Lisbeth Muller-Stephan, Astrid Smolinski and Leonie). The elegant Stedinger daughter took wins in riding horse classes and young horse novice tests. Leonie also won the gold medal with her at the provincial Championship for 4 year olds in Hannover.
In total we our team had a very good season. 45 wins, 32 second places, 21 third places and 39 further ribbons was the balance. The winners were WONDER WOMAN (Weltmeyer), DONNA ANTONIA ( Don Frederico), HINDENBURG ( His Highness), REENERGYS BASIL (Belissimo),
SHIRA MAREEN(Stedinger), HALBERSTATERS MARTIN (Matula), MARCHENPRINZ (Munchhausen), DACCORD DE (De Niro) and SHOWTIME (Polarpunkt)
A personal highlight for Leonie was certainly the Olympic Games in Hongkong helping Heike Kemmer and Bonaparte to Olympic Team Gold and Individual Bronze. A further highlight was the success of Leonies Australian student Jayden Brown who together with his horse Widelo placed first in the Kur at the Young Riders World Finals in Frankfurt.
Form a breeders point of view in 2008 three lovely foals arrived in fine health and our our mare HEELIA (His Highness) recieved her State Premiumn title:
Once again Grand Slam for Hannover South
With further consistency Fritz Frickes Team Hannover South went on to win the third and final leg of the winter series in Verden. Winning with a considerable lead and a score of 83.17% were Iris Sheminowski, Thomas Scholz, Wolfhardt Witte and Leonie.
